I bought Pumpkin last July, he was 100%
untrained, during the fall he went
through Clinton Anderson's ground
training techniques...we began
undersaddle with walking, and we were
briefly starting the trot but then
winter came in VT and we had to stop.
Pumpkin is good with the farrier - needs
work on the trailering he will load, but
will just be a little anxious once he is
in. I don't reccommend Pumpkin for a
beginner at all. I have not been able to
work with Pumpkin all winter due to the
weather, so he needs some retuning of
groundwork before starting the
undersaddle training on him. I
reccommend him only to someone who has
all the time to train him because he is
very personal and has a "fine line" - I
can explain more if contacted. Pumpkin
was started english undersaddle and his
future was going to be H/J or eventing
with me. He is a gorgeous cocoa color in
the summertime, and almost turns black
in the winter. With the right training
and the dedication Pumpkin will be the
greatest horse, he is my first horse but
my parents want me to sell him because
they say I dont have time (when its
really all I do.) Before I bought
Pumpkin for the first 5 yrs. of his life
he was a pasture pet...and then when I
got him it was time to work, once you
have his attention Pumpkin will do
anything for you, and i'm not just
saying that he is extremely willing. The
first time I mounted him he stood right
there like an everyday riding. I did
ride him bareback a few times and he was
good. But without the retuning of his
ground training PUmpkin won't be any
better in the saddle as he would be on
the ground. If you are interested of
hearing more please email me or give me
a call. - Thanks, Shanan. Ps. I really
reccommend him to either a trainer
looking for a great prospect, or an
advanced rider who is really willing to
dedicate almost all of their time to
him. I do have photos just ask.
