Tarifas PC Emage is a 7 yr old mare who
is sired by Psyche Cynead and out of a
Crabbet bred mare. Tarifa's grandsire is
the great Padron Psyche who has always
been a personal favorite of mine. Her
pedigree houses some fine names like
Padron, Barich De Washoe, Ansata Ibn
Halima, Witez, Fadl, Raffles, Fadjur,
Ferseyn, and Image. Her tail female line
goes to Nejdma making her an Kuhlayan
Ajuz in strain.
Tarifa was rescued
from going to slaughter last early
summer. I have possession of her papers
but the recorded owner wont sign the
papers.
We took her in and have been
very happy to see her gain her weight
back and settle in. I've been able to
better evaluate what kind of home would
suit her best. I had to work with her
before I could get a halter on her
because she has been misabused in the
past. I discovered right away that I
could not tie her up without her
freaking out totally. I added to her
lead rope a bungee trailer tie and that
has stopped the issue. I'm hoping she
can be weaned from this system over time
to just be able to handle the plain lead
rope. She picks up her feet good. We
haven't tried trailering her since using
the lead rope but I know she trailered
good from the sale barn to our home.
She is not really a horsey horse and has
not bonded with any of our horses. She
wants to bond with a human but she is
still afraid too. I feel she'd blossom
under the care and loving of just ONE
human with constant one-on-one care.
Since she could care less about other
horses I'm hoping to find someone who is
knowledgable in Arabians and doesn't
have any other horses or maybe just one.
Tarifa is in the 14-ish hand range.
She has hunter under saddle type
movement and possibly with training,
western pleasure. She has filled out
even more over the winter.
