I am looking for an older possibly
retired or semiretired horse for my
young son, he will be 3 in June. I have
a lifetime experience with horses, grew
up on a ranch, train horses, run
barrels, etc. etc. I sold the horse I
planned for him to have as the timing
was right and the horse was very young
so i'm not sure it would have been a
great match once he gets off the
leadline. I hate the advertisements
looking for free horses but if you have
an older horse that you don't want to
see go to kill, this would be a forever
home. I need a horse that doesn't need
to be penned completely separate, I do
grain all my horses, do regular farrier
work, worming, etc. I don't want
something that needs corrective shoeing,
barefoot would be best. slight
arthritis, old injuries that don't give
too much trouble, all that is ok. I
also have a nice barrel prospect that I
would trade, I would need something that
is 100% sound if I do a trade,
disposition and safety a MUST. quarter
horse, paint, appaloosa breeds are
acceptable. I am often riding in an
arena situation with other riders and
roping cattle, horse needs to be able to
handle this situation and keep to a walk
and trot.
