Middy is not for a beginner child. He is very level headed but has a lot of get up and go. A 13 yr old girl roped and worked cattle on him before we got him. On trails or just riding around he is fine but He is too much pony for my daughter when he's in the ring. Would make a great contesting pony for 4-H or open shows for a kid with a little know how. Easy to catch, leads loads, clips, bathes
