Lil Man is an off the track thoroughbred
gelding. His owners cared enough about
him to allow our shelter to take him in
once his racing career was over. Lil
Man's last race was in June 2007 where
he experienced bone chips in his knees.
He has had surgery (Feb of 08) and had
his knees injected. He has no ill
effects from the bone chips. Although
it is common for TB's to return to
racing after having bone chips, his
owners did not want this for him. Lil
Man's complete medical history regarding
the bone chips and surgery are available
from his vet. He is ready to begin
training for a new vocation. We have
ridden Lil Man and he is wonderfully
calm, can be ridden bareback or with a
saddle, and responds very well to leg
pressure. there is no need to be on the
bit with this horse. He's a horse that
I would keep myself, however we cannot
keep every horse that comes through the
shelter. If you would like to visit Lil
Man, please email us. Photos available
as well. Adoption contract required.
