A balanced and collected w/t/c- he knows
his leads, simple changes, will pivot
off his rear, flexs thru the neck, gives
with slightest pressure to the bit, and
has a nice low headset for hunters,
english or western pleasure. Will ride
in either English or Western tack- BUT-
has not yet been taught to neck rein.
Virtually spook proof and with a
little finishing, this horse could make
a very nice pony club horse,
hunter/jumper, medium level dressage
(very uphill build and movement), fox
hunter, eventer, or keep him as just
your family trail horse. Sane without
lunging, even after MONTHS off and
virtually perfect on the ground!! Could
go youth horse with his sane nature, but
tall and substantial enough to be a
'husband's horse'...
On a midwest
working farm he has experienced more
things than your typical barn horse ever
will... wildlife- deer, turkey and
pheasants in the pastures, large farm
implements, cattle, donkeys, goats, semi
trucks and trailers. He's immune to
traffic, loud noises and boisterous
activities. Trailers as though he was
born there, and ties quietly to stand
all day if needed.
Has been rode
out to check cattle and fences, but
mostly just a family horse. Some basic
dressage was put on him a year ago, but
nothing since. Currently back with a
professional trainer for a tuneup in the
arena, and to further his show training
as I do not have the time. Second time
saddled this season (trail ride), he was
rode by a 13 year old novice rider, so
his being with a trainer is not because
he isn't sweet or easy to ride. He
absolutely enjoys human contact and
interaction.
