We have started Chief on the trails. He will go out alone or in a group. He crosses water and goes up and down hills...etc. He is not quite finished yet so I would not put a beginner on him but a youth that knows how to ride can handle him. He would be a fun project to finish out. Chief has a flaxen mane and tale w/ a blanket on his rump.
