(Honey) is the product of a very wise
(not to mention intentional) breeding
decision. Guaranteed Gold (Sire) hails
from multiple strains of registered
palomino thoroughbred blood with both
his sire and dam descendants of Milkie,
the king of palomino thoroughbred blood.
Artic Squaw (dam), who incidentally was
pure white in color, sports a solid
female family of racing producers which
increases the athletic potential of her
offspring considerably.
We
purchased this mare to breed to our
chestnut stallion, Ballado Chieftan,
with the hopes that we might get a
palomino filly with racing ability, who,
if we were lucky, could carry on the
palomino bloodlines after a successful
racing career. Our 2007-model yearling
filly (Splash of Vanilla) shown in the
attached photos, was just what we were
hoping for. Unfortunately Honey's
second foal died during foaling this
Spring and we chose not to rebreed in
2008.
We believe this mare can be
a cornerstone for a breeding program
trying to distinguish itself with
quality and color potential.
