Ranger is a buckskin miniature horse
that we've had for 3 years. When we got
him, we took him to a professional horse
trainer just to get him some ground
manners and make sure he was 'good and
broke'!
He has been an absolute joy
to our family and has taken such good
care of our daughter, I cannot say
enough about that. He doesn't buck,
kick, rear, bite....he loads, clips,
bathes, stands for farrier, anything you
ask him to do. He is sound and will not
run away with a child. He is very laid
back and would prefer not to run if he
doesn't have too! He is like a pet in
every sense of the word. Our daughter
brings him in the house on occasion and
he just stands wherever she puts him. He
will get more attention from people than
anything you've seen! He has ridden in
the Christmas parade the last 3 years
and carries a flag with no problem. He
isn't skiddish or shy. He is an
incredible pony/mini.
The first year
we got him, my husband did lead in with
him and our daughter and they placed in
the top five for the year. She also rode
him in Buckaroo and was the Reserve
Champion for 2005-2006. In 2006-2007 he
was the Buckaroo Champion, and also
placed in the top five in Horsemanship.
This year, 2007-2008 he is the Buckaroo
Champion, Horsemanship Champion and
placed 3rd in Walk/Trot.
Jenna also
ran him in Pony Speed and Pony Flags,
barely missing a place in flags. As you
can imagine, his short little legs
aren't going to outrun a big pony -- so
it was all about her sticking the flag.
Ranger is an absolute babysitter. We
are so sad that we have to sell him, but
we also don't believe it's fair for him
to sit in a pasture the rest of his life
when other kids can ride him and love
him like Jenna has.
She goes out in
the pasture now and catches him and
jumps on him bareback, sometimes with a
halter, sometimes without. He just goes
wherever she tells him to. He gets along
great with other horses..he is actually
the boss at our house over 5 other
horses!

someone who will love him and treat him
