He has a beautiful neck and muscled hindquarters, nicely boned legs and overall "thick" or "stocky" structure without the immense height. He is ideal for any size beginner teen or adult who is looking for a strong, safe, sane trail horse. His perfect height (15 hands) makes him ideal for trailering in regular sized trailers, as well as easy mounting (should you have to dismount for any reason without a mounting block available) and security for the rider (he's not so huge as to be intimidating for nervous beginners).<br><br>He is young enough to be enjoyed for 20 more years of regular riding, but old enough to have solid training under his belt. On trails, he will either lead or follow, walk, trot, canter, or even gallop. He may be a bit "boring" for extremely experienced riders unless you're just looking to take it easy-- again, he is best suited to beginners or intermediates. He is by no means SLOW, and indeed has a nice "trail walk" averaging 3.5-4mph, but he will NEVER take off without the command-- he only moves into the next gait when asked. He has no problem leaving the other horses, and doesn't get fidgety if they leave him. I have used him extensively for lessons and trails for novice teen or adult riders, and have led many trails on him. He is extremely consistant, and can be ridden once a day, once a week, once a month, or once a year; he is always the same horse every time you get on. <br><br>He crosses water without issue, and has faced some of the toughest trails in Ga without any problems. He is comfortable around donkeys, cattle, deer, and turkeys, as well as extremely annoying dogs. <br><br>He has competed and placed in halter at local shows-- in youth and open classes. <br><br>Ground Manners: Uno is excellent on the ground. He is easy to catch and halter in a pasture, stands perfectly still when tied, has excellent stall manners, bathes, loads, clips, and is great with his feet. He enjoys being groomed, and will indeed stand there for HOURS to let you pamper him. His feet are like concrete; they never crack or chip, and are extremely easy to maintain, he needs a trim approximately every 10 weeks.<br><br> Feeding and Care: Uno is one of my easiest keepers, and is inexpensive to maintain. He has never needed a vet except for yearly vaccinations and coggins (he is completely up to date). He has never come up lame, even after extremely strenuous trails, and has never coliced. He keeps a healthy weight on a small amount of low fat feed and grass hay. <br><br>I have calculated his feed and care costs to $50 per month (feet, feed, hay). Again- he costs me nearly nothing to keep which is why I have procratinated selling him.<br><br>Please come out and take a ride with us! Uno loves the attention and the exercise!
