Hello, my name is Connie and we are located in Science Hill, Ky. (Lake Cumberland area) -60 mi. South of Lexington, Ky. - and 35 minutes from I-75 - from the Mt. Vernon or London, Ky. -exits! For the past 4 years, I have worked locally with families in finding their children 'truly' safe, broke ponies and horses. In November, 2006, I began SPECIALIZING in finding safe horses for all ages of Children, including Children and Adults with Special Needs, - Beginner and Mature Riders, and Riders with Health Issues. I have also had the joy of working with home schooled children who are ill in finding companions for them....as well as providing horses for those that have been injured in some way and need a smooth ride! That is what I do! I have also had the wonderful opportunity TO WORK WITH THE 'MAKE A WISH FOUNDATION'...a true blessing. PLEASE VISIT OUR NEW WEBSITE - http://www.ForestRidgeFarm.com
We ask that you read our "About Us" page - You can read about all we have to offer you and hopefully soon -we will have several of our horses on with many videos and photos of each! We are working on it! We have the above type horses on "Wish Upon A Horse" - and we also have horses for Advanced Riders - listed under Smith Stables. These are horses that have negative behavior - and we list every reason that they are in the Advanced Riders catagory. Some of these horses are potential show horses - with higher level of energy - more spirit! We also work with Experienced Riders!! We have horses with a little get up and go - more spirit - faster gaits - for those of you who are experienced and confident riders! When a horse turns out not to be what I need for the Wish Upon A Horse Riders, - it will be offered with a FULL AND DETAILED description of EVERY negative trait about that horse! You will be told that this horse is for an ADVANCED rider.
You will know exactly what goes with that horse!! Good and Bad!! Your safety is my main concern - When I describe a horse with negative
traits - and 'YOU' tell me that you can handle him ----and 'YOU make the decision' to purchase that horse - then it will up to you to make it work.
I so enjoy doing this..... I have rode and shown horses all of my life. My daughter grew up riding and showing. Due to her, over the years, I had a few experiences with buying 'supposedly' child broke horses.
I don't show anymore...but I love horses and I love working with a family in finding them 'just the right horse'. I buy my horses from families and friends that I personally know - or referrals from them. Being a part of the show world and trail riding groups over the years, I have many that I trust that I buy from when one becomes available for sale. But sometimes....when I buy from others 'who seem honest' - I get a horse that is not acceptable for my families. We bring each horse to our stables for at least eight weeks and sometimes we just enjoy a horse and he may have been here 3 PLUS! months!!! This time allows me to know the personality of each one - and gives me peace that the horse or pony is exactly how I have described it to you. I only handle a few ponies and/or horses at a time due to this. I wish that I could do this full time but there are two other businesses here - Horsetrailers & More' ...and - Smith's Insulated Buildings - - I do this ---when time permits -because I enjoy sharing with families from all states! It is amazing! This is my fun thing!! Meeting new people...making new friends every day!! I HAVE MANY REFERENCES...Please visit our website - http://www.ForestRidgeFarm.com
and see our many References and - we have started on our Testimonial page also - ! I have transported MOST of the horses I have sold with the decision being made with detailed e-mails and videos. I love for families to come and spend the day - in person - but unfortunately, most just do not have time to come in person - or the distance is just too far to travel for them, so they have no choice but to 'trust' someone to send them a safe horse. Unfortunately, 95% of my e-mails are stories of family members being hurt due to the horse not being what was described to them! It is not only physical injuries, but coping with the emotional
disappointment of what was supposed to be a very special time, as well as the financial burden and loss people are having to endure. And this is even being done to children, which is totally unforgivable......
My main concern is your safety, and that you be happy with the choice you make 'after' you get your new friend home! I always ask that you come and spend the day with us...to 'spend time with the horse'...to bridle, saddle it - brushing, leading, riding, loading on the trailer, whatever you want to do that will make you know you have made the right choice. I also give you time alone with the horse so you can get to know one another. Our horses are healthy - and come with current coggins, health certificates, and usually ALL vaccinations - and our vet name and phone number. Due to different feeding practices, sometimes we get horses that are very thin! A horse can drop a 100 lbs. in a week! And it takes months to get the weight back on! So if you see photos of these horses...please know - our horses are fat and pretty...and if you see one a little less than that for sale on my ad site -'we are working on that- I promise you'!!! We reset their shoes before transporting, and I usually send photos of the re-set for your farrier to have! We float their teeth, and they are wormed EVERY 2 months! I have sold over 90 horses since November, 2006. I will never tell you a horse or pony is 'bombproof'. Horses are magnificient...in size and beauty. But along with this comes personalities - as well as the ability to feel emotions. Just like humans - they feel pain, playfulness - they have the ability to feel affection and love -
and they also have the ability to feel 'fear'. Our horses are tested time and time again here - and subjected to EVERYTHING WE POSSIBLY CAN SUBJECT THEM TO!! Even if a horse does not show 'one sign of' negative behavior --I will not tell you he/she is bombproof. When you ask for this in a horse...you are 'asking and expecting perfection'. We, as humans, are not perfect. AND WE SHOULD NOT EXPECT PERFECTION with ourselves or our horses - because of both having the ability 'to feel'.
I have pages of references! Families that have purchased a horse from me continue to keep in touch with warm hearted stories and photos! I have two beautiful scrapbooks full of photos, e-mails, and memories! These are friendships that I treasure! 'My life - has been SO BLESSED in doing what I do!!' It has given me the opportunity to help others - and they have been SO grateful... The friendships that I have made - each and everyone - is a blessing! What else is there in this world except family and good friends?!! From my heart, I thank each of you for your time in reading this...and maybe through the beautiful heart of horses...we can work together and once again, I'll make a new friend!!
Please go to our new website still in progess - and see (a few!-) of our beautiful horses and ponies!! We are working to get more on! I HAVE HORSES THAT ARE NOT ON HORSETOPIA OR THE WEBSITE...JUST TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT AND NEED IN A HORSE, AND I WILL WORK WITH YOU TO HELP YOU FIND JUST THE RIGHT ONE!!! Please visit us at
http://www.ForestRidgeFarm.com --We will be posting more horses there as time permits!!! I THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR TIME IN READING THIS!! IT IS LONG...BUT IT IS FROM MY HEART'......
Blessings to all of you..With heartfelt thanks, Connie

I cannot believe as big as he is.....how quiet he moves!<br>Needless to say....he walks to you to catch!<br>He will not leave you when just out in the pasture spending time with him!<br>As for his other qualities....he has exceptional ground manners. Quiet in all things. Stands in crossties - tied to a fence - with all the patience one could ask for! He is easy to handle in all things...clip, shoe, load, haul, and absolutely loves to be bathed!!<br>And his ride??? He is very smooth but he is not a real fast horse. He has a real easy, laid back, "not a care in the world" type gait! He does not have what we call a "fast gait". He is a wonderful trail horse!!! You have to watch the tree limbs, of course!!(smile) He will ride alone...walk away from the group....and rides patiently wherever you want to ride him on a trail ride!! He will cross creeks, ditches, go up sloped hills....logs, and we have been riding him also on Highway 27 with SO MUCH TRAFFIC!!! Along with the highway workers and heavy equpment blacktopping the new road! They are now working south of us but will be coming back and forth. We will get videos of Trip riding along side all of the above, when they do return!<br>Trip will ride double......he is not afraid of barking dogs - 4-wheelers, cycles, and we test our horses by going through a rental park over the hill! There are several loose<br>barking dogs! One family has - four - 4-wheelers! "We do everything we possibly can do to try to make sure there are no surprises when they arrive at their new home"! Trip runs great in the pasture with other horses. He will just melt your heart watching him! He is SO BIG ....but SO HUMBLE! Very small horses intimadate Trip!<br>him....If I gave him a nick-name, it would be<br>"Humble Eyes". Because he sure does have those big brown eyes that will take your heart away!! Trip is a horse that comes along ever so often!! Not every day! "He is truly - a joy to be with - a joy to ride"!! Don't miss out on the amazing horse that is all wrapped up in one, big, beautiful package!!<br>ALL OF OUR HORSES ARE VET CHECK WITH "EXAM" <br>"RIGHT BEFORE LEAVING" - MOST WILL HAVE ALL THEIR VACCINATIONS OR DUE DATES! WE WORM EVERY TWO MONTHS! SHOES WILL BE RESET IF NEEDED WITH PHOTOS OF SHOEING WITH PAPERWORK! And - TEETH FLOATED! - Please see our website and you will see why "our horses don't last long"!! We also obtain transport quotes and schedules upon request! We thank you "for your time" in reading our lengthy ads!!!!!<br>With Wishes For Blessings to All Of You, Connie (details)

WE HAVE REFERENCES LISTED ON OUR WEBSITE AT HTTP://WWW.ForestRidgeFarm.com! We have also started our testimonial page! Lots of work still to do on our website but we are slowly getting there!!<br>We have our horses separated in two categories on our website! The horses that will be listed under "Wish Upon A Horse" - are very calm, gentle, quiet horses for Beginner Riders, Children, and Riders with Special needs, as well as Mature Riders.<br>We also offer horses for the Experienced Rider.<br><br>The second catagory- Listed Under Smith Stables - For Advanced Riders - are horses that have behavior traits that some riders would have difficulty getting along with. Example- a horse that will not stand to mount. A mare with marish behaviors will be in this category. Some potential show horses - that Tommy is selling due to not showing- will be in this catagory. Higher level of energy, more get-up-and go type horses will be listed in the Advanced Rider's catagory!<br>BUT- WHATEVER THEIR FLAW!!! ALL THE REASONS THIS HORSE IS LISTED UNDER "FOR ADVANCED RIDERS" WILL BE LISTED WITH THAT HORSE'S AD!!!! <br><br>STONECUTTER is absolutely beautiful! I have him rated with a 2 temperament due to -<br>"he will not stand still to mount". He walks off. Please see several videos of him on our website - listed under Advanced Horses For Sale - Smith Stables. I think if a person had one-on-one<br>time to work with him consistently, this would probably be corrected. He is a beautiful horse in every other way! Please see our website for more videos and all the information on Stonecutter and others!!<br><br>PLEASE VISIT OUR WEBSITE - read "About Us" - AND SEE ALL THAT WE HAVE TO OFFER....AND MORE IS COMING!!!! Horsetopia Local Listings
Forest Ridge Farm in USA/Canada
in Farm Directory
Forest Ridge Farm is located in Science Hill, Kentucky! We are about 60 miles south of Lexington, Ky. - 2 hours from Knoxville, Tn.- and 3 hours from Nashville, Tenn.
We have owned and loved horses all of our lives with particpated in showing and trail riding! In November, 2006, for a friend, I advertised two horses on Horsetopia. The e-mails that I received were numerous and most all with stories of bad experiences in buying horses over the internet. Some were so unbelievable with endangering children, as well as elderly riders. The families had taken such losses financially, as well as emotionally. It was November, 2006, that I began working with families in finding them "just the right horse".
I work with Children, Special Needs, Mature Riders, Timid Riders, and Beginner Riders.
We buy our horses usually from families. They are brought here and we keep them minimum- 2 months - and usually they are here 3-7 months - before being offered for sale to families. We do everything possible to make sure the horse is safe - to find all
negative behaviors "before" they leave our
home.
Please visit our website - http://www.ForestRidgeFarm.com - Read our
"About Us" page, and you will then understand
about what we do....our goals.....and how doing what we do - is taken very personal and very serious. Every family is important to us. Every e-mail is appreciated. We do everything possible to make sure you are safe. On our website, you will see a list of our many references! We have just begun setting up our testimonials.....but we have several.
I thank you for taking the time to read this...and I hope you will visit us on our website and see the many beautiful horses that we have had - and the ones presently For Sale!!
